Ajarkan aku

Bawakan aku terus pada kamu
Jangan dekati aku dengan mereka

Ajarkan aku cinta

Jika aku jatuh lagi,

Day Challenge!

I finally decide to accept the 365 Day Challenge considering my lack of ideas to write something here. I felt the urge to write, but none actually came out of me and this very page was left with old post covered in dust.

So, hurmmm. Hopes, dreams & plans eh?
I don't know whether this can be achieved in the time of a year from the moment I wrote them down but I hope by that time, at least I would be a bit near towards reaching them.

1. Each day, I hope that I am a step closer to Allah.
This would be my topmost wish. Forever. And for all of you out there. I want to learn more, practice more & love more about my Creator and my Faith.

2. To increase my CGPA and .
If it was for me, I am just content for having to learn something I am very passionate about. A great result would be a bonus for me but a great result would be a gift for my parents. So, this one goes especially for them.

3. To at least try 5 different sport & adventures.
These are currently on top of my list.
- Wall climbing/ Rock Climbing
- Bungee Jumping
- Paintball
- White water rafting
- Hiking

4. To travel to at least travel to 3 foreign lands.
Road trips, couch surfing, leisure travel or whatever it is.
These are the lands which I wish to step my feet on *for now* :-
- Indonesia
- Singapore
- Pulau Perhentian
- Sabah/Sarawak

5. To involve more in voluntary and charity work.

6. To buy these things using MY OWN money
- Fujifilm Instax Panda
- Digital Camera
- Smartphone
- New bookshelves & drawers fr my room

7. To find another source of income beside scholarships

8. To learn more of these
- Cooking & Baking
- Sewing
- DIY/Handmade products
- Language (Mandarin or Spanish or French)

9. To get fit & eat healthily

10. To be a miracle each day and make every day worthwhile

There are many other things that I wish to write down. A lot of small goals which I wish to achieve and also some bad habits which I wish to get rid off. But up there would be the big things I wish to do within 365 days. Let's just hope for the very best. :D

Be grateful

Kau, aku, kita

Suka? ya aku pernah suka kamu.
tapi ini bukan cinta.
Suka? ya tak perlu aku selindung,
tapi lain keindahannya.

Jangan ganggu cinta aku
hanya kerana perasaan suka.
Jangan ganggu getar hati ku,
kerana yang ini untuk selamanya.

cinta aku pada dia.
dan juga Dia yang satu.
cinta aku pada dia,
tiada lain.
cinta aku pada Dia,
itu abadi.

What is Ramadhan in the Qur'an

Such a beautiful reminder from our beloved Ustaz Nouman Ali Khan

Allah (swt) mentions RAMADHAN only ONCE in the Qur'an. For Muslims all over the world we always think about FASTING when we think of Ramadhan. However note that Allah did not introduce Ramadhan with fasting. So what did Allah say?
Al- Baqarah : 185

Ramadhan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgement (so that mankind will distinguish from from right and wrong)... " Allah INTRODUCED Ramadhan with the QUR'AN instead. *The month of Ramadhan is in fact when the Qur'an was sent down.

*Hence the FIRST thing we have to think about when it comes to Ramadhan is the Quran.

Lets recite, understand and study the quran. Learn Arabic, because its the language of the Quran

Do as you please

There are times when I'm caught up in everything and I have to say to myself, "Please feel good; please feel better; hey, you're big girl, please don't cry; everything's okay; you're fine; things aren't falling apart; take a second; get back to a place where you realize that you don't actually have real problems." That happens. You never know when those tables are gonna turn... The point isn't hard to grasp, trying to please everyone is impossible cos they won't stop talking. There comes a point when you have got to stop relying on other people to make you feel okay. Life will never be perfect, no matter how hard you try.

Father's day

Ayah...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things will never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days
when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Ayah, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

If I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads
you would still be my choice.

No one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Skipping class

Skipping class felt, stupid. It's not that it's a stupid thing to do, hey, everyone has their own way of filling their days. Sometimes with even better things than listening to lectures. The main reason for skipping three classes today was to finish my assignments apart from clearing the mess out of my mind. And it just felt stupid doing so. All day I sat on my desk with no internet, staring outside my window, counting the number of buses coming in and out of the front gate, the slow and fast pace of people walking under the rain, listening to the rain dropped heavier and heavier, feeling the rough wind, soft wind against my face, letting them blow through my hair shaping them into whatever style it pleased, and that's it. My assignments were still pending. And I didn't walk under the rain. Damn it. I didn't walk under the rain, feel the pool of water in my sneakers nor feel the mush of sweat and rainwater on my face. None.

Life in IIUM

Aku bukan nak cakap apa. Tapi aku suka kehidupan kat UIA. sumpah aku rasa macam nak graduate lambat lambat supaya aku boleh stay kat UIA tu lelama. tapi oleh sebab kalau aku tak graduate makanya selagi itulah aku takleh kahwin *ehhh?* jadinya aku kena cepat2 graduate. oke ini merepek. sila abaikan perenggan pertama post ni.
__________________________________________________________________________________

baiklah, banyak benda yang aku suka pasal UIA ni tapi untuk episod kali ni aku hanya akan cerita beberapa point je kay uolss.

1. UIA cantik dan bangunan dia macam Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft & Wizardy.
betul oke, ini betul. bukan nak gebang tapi memang aku rasa UIA cantikkkk sangat. hihihi. And and kalau kau memang gila Harry Potter dan kau suka merendek merata sampai seantero UIA tu kau dah terjah, kau akan faham maksud aku. jangan memain weyh, aku 1st year dah pusing satu UIA hokayy. kau tahu tak UIA ada tempat helikopter mendarat, haaa haaa? mana mana?

and bangunan kat KAED lawaaa. itulah kuliyyah paling lawa. mesti la kan, dah nama pon dorang bakal bakal Architect. ._.

2. Bilik aku tak pernah reti nak panas.
Tolonglah sesiapa jelaskan misteri pasal bilik aku. Kalau musim sejuk *UIA ada winter oke sila percaya*, sumpah sejuks tahap maksimas macam Winter waa cakap sama lu. Gua punya bilik tarak perlu itu air cond, pasang kipas 2 lu olang dah gigil macam kat Amerika gitu. Gua kasi selimut itu badan pun gua gigil macam Parkinson.

3.Foreigner UIA standard muka nak ala Van Persie & Fabregas je
Tall, Style & Handsome. enough said.
*tapi ini tertakluk pada terma dan syarat. Fakta ini mungkin terlalu overgeneralisation tp who cares?*

Lintas jalan *LIKE A BOSS* kereta moto dia kasi redah je dia taiko besar tu.
Bawak duit sehinggit pergi kedai beli kejadah haram sekati dia je *LIKE A BOSS*
hulur duit *LIKE A BOSS* cukup tak cukup dia peduli hapa,
jalan bajet macam student Universiti *LIKE A BOSS*
tegur abang abang Afrika lain *LIKE A BOSS*
dia ingat tu geng geng dia lah konon tegur gaya gangsta gitu *again, LIKE A BOSS*.

*Gangsta wa cakap sama lu*

Tapi African child favorite aku tu dah takde dah sejak masuk 2nd year. Agaknya mak dia tak larat dah nak kawal kegangstaan dia yang makin menjadi-jadi. kalau dia dah besar dan tetbe dia lalu kat belog ni & boleh faham bahasa Melayu. tulus dari hati, aku rindu dia.  Y.Y

besar nanti adik tolong mak adik ye, penat mak nak jaga adik taiko sgt masa kecik dulu.
__________________________________________________________________________________

*zzzz*

Keep walking

keep walking,
even if it is tiring,
just make a move,
so that you won’t too easily lose.
keep walking,
even if you feel pain a-shooting,
just move forward,
even the world never moves backward.
keep walking,
even if you could not stop complaining,
even if your two legs know,
how far more you have to go.
 Just keep on walking!

Disorder

Right now I feel like postponing my graduation. Yes. I can graduate next semester but do I really want to? I don't think I really live my university years. Haven't yet sort out any universities I'm aiming for pursuing my masters at, haven't sent out resumes, heck, haven't even prepared one. Not even have much to be put in it anyway. But my course mates ensured me that graduating early is the best choice. Taekwondo mates, in return, haunt me with inquiries: Why? Why early? What are you gonna do? Why the rush? Peer pressure, indeed making me dwell in this cul-de-sac. Next semester, short semester, the other next semester? Pick one or forever hold your peace. Somehow, a little part of me begs for a therapist. But that thug ain't gonna live with the choice made. I will. Istikharah prayer. Ok. Noted. But what else? Yes, I've listed the pros and cons of graduating early and later. None gave me a precise answer. Ya see, this has developed into quite a monster. Making me angry throughout the semester, feeding me frustrations and whatnot just for a single deadly choice. Well, not that deadly. To be honest, I really don't know what will happen ahead; after graduation. Answering What Do You Love Doing questions is easy but making the right choices isn't. The end of the tunnel is filled with vagueness. Like I'm disallowed at making a choice despite liking so many things. My soul needs to calm down. These pestering voices overwhelm, yes, so I need to calm down. Deep down, I don't want to graduate early. Graduate early, are you kidding me? My train just got off the track and at the moment, I'm still lifting the heavy wheels back to where they belong. The engine hasn't warmed up yet but I choose to get off of it and leave it there? No way. So be it I'm late at holding that scroll in my hands. At least I have more time to fill in the empty blanks of my will-yet-be-written resume. Oh great. I've made my choice. By ranting it out here, lol. And if I choose to finish in solid 4 years, I can add Creative Writing subject I've always wanted. Hooo Yeahhh!

Imam Syafi’i berkata :
Bahkan Imam Syafi'i rahimahullah berkata :
"Aku MAMPU BERHUJAH dengan 10 orang yang BERILMU, tetapi aku PASTI KALAH dengan SEORANG YANG JAHIL, karena orang yang jahil itu TIDAK PERNAH FAHAM LANDASAN ILMU."

Lalu Imam Syafi'i berkata :
[“Diwan As-Syafi’i” karya Yusuf Asy-Syekh Muhammad Al-Baqa’i]
Beliau rahimahullah menambahkan :
"Orang pandir mencercaku dengan kata-kata jelek
Maka aku tidak ingin untuk menjawabnya. Dia bertambah pandir dan aku bertambah lembut, seperti kayu wangi yang dibakar malah menambah wangi" [Diwan Asy-Syafi’i hal. 156]
[HR. Abu Dawud dalam Kitab al-Adab, hadits no 4167. Dihasankan oleh al-Albani dalam as-Shahihah [273] as-Syamilah].
Sudaraku..
Al-A’raf: 199)
Semoga bermanfaat. Hanya pada Allaah kita memohon petunjuk.
Wallahu Ta'ala A'lam bish showaab..

Telapak Buruk vs Berembun 12/4/14

The Theme of Feminism in The Guide by R.K Narayan

im done with my assignment for my World Literature subject on this topic..
just wanna share with you guys :)
The Guide is Narayan’s most famous novel in which he portrays the character of a woman who defies almost all traditional codes for women and comes out full way to establish herself as a human being. Rosie in The Guide is successful in her mission. She obtains her freedom and moves all over India alone doing her own work. Rosie, an M.A. in economics, challenges the orthodox Hindu concept of what a woman should be. She leaves her husband who shows his apathy and indifference towards her feelings and moves out of the walls of his family on a path usually unchartered for women in an Indian society.
The author portrays her character with all his sympathy, exposing the hypocrisy of the patriarchal society and showing how miserable the condition of even a highly educated woman was in that society and at the same time showing women gradually getting conscious of their personalities and demands. Rosie gives more importance to the gratification of her personal interest than to the observation of social codes for women. She ignores the taboos and other social practices that thwart her independence and moves on in her own way with her back to the society’s reaction and criticism. When her husband appears to her wanting passion and love and time for her, she enjoys the company of Raju, walking with him all over Malgudi and its surrounding sites, sitting with him beside the river Sarayu in the evenings and even indulging him in her closed room.
Rosie first walks over India’s time honoured tradition by ignoring the established custom of matching horoscopes and caste for marriage where it is a practice held to be sacred in Hinduism. But Rosie marriages one archaeologist husband with no matching of horoscopes and no consideration of caste. Rosie said in this novel  “I had myself photographed clutching the scroll of the university citation in one hand, and sent it to the advertisement. Well we met, he examined me and my certificate, we went to a registrar and got married”.
Next is the author’s portrayal of the character of Rosie further questions the position of women and exposes the cruelty and inhumanity of the male dominated Indian society. Rosie is an educated woman but her education fails to promote her status and gives her a better position in the society. As she said in the novel “We are viewed as public women. We are not considered respectable; we are not considered as civilized”. Even Marco wants to raise her as a puppet as if she were an illiterate woman unable to understand anything. Thus the society was blind and could not see any difference between an M. A. passed Rosie and an illiterate woman. Rosie finally comes out of this society that treats women as dolls and tries to stand on her own feet.
By throwing both Marco and Raju away from her life, Rosie strongly defies the well-defined place of women in Malgudi where a woman is never allowed to go on her own way, but is made to remain a puppet. An inner strength, until unseen and undiscovered by herself, leads her to soar so far out of Marco’s and even Raju’s reach that neither Raju nor Marco can control her. Raju at last comprehends that “she would never stop dancing … whether I was inside the bars or outside, whether her husband approved of it or not. Neither Marco nor I had any place in her life, which had its own sustaining vitality and which she herself had underestimated all along.”
